HELENA – A Whitefish veterinarian was killed in the crash of a single-engine aircraft on the ice of Hungry Horse Reservoir in northwestern Montana. Flathead County Undersheriff Pete Wingert on Thursday identified the victim as Hugh A. Rogers, 50, who owned the Alpine Animal Hospital in Whitefish.

The Norman City Council plans to discuss proposed changes to the city’s animal welfare ordinance at its 5:30 p.m. discussion Tuesday, prior to the Council’s 6:30 p.m. regular session.Two of the proposed changes include a random, annual inspection plan for local kennels and the rule limiting the number of pets in a household.
